Panning
If you see a photo with a moving subject that’s sharp and a background that has motion blur, then it’s a panning shot. When panning, your goal is to capture a moving object while moving your camera along with it, preferably at the same speed.
To achieve this effect:
Slow shutter speed
You should use the shutter speed that ranges from 1/30th to 1/125th of a second.
Al servo
Continuous shooting mode
Don’t wait until the subject will get into your shot, move along with it.
ICM (Intentional Camera Movement)
There is no right or wrong with ICM. It’s about creativity.
High F stop, low ISO
Move quickly from left to right.
Where will we meet?
Meet at 4:00PM in the parking lot across from the carousel in Hull. We will do some panning at the carousel. Also, cars, people, flowers and other things in the area. Then we will go to the ocean across the street and do some ICM of the waves and sunset.
